Jason Mraz Gives Free Concert To Benefit Green Charities
Grammy Award nominee Jason Mraz is giving his San Diego fans a free concert with donations going to green charities. The “I’m Yours” hitmaker is giving a free concert at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater on October 11. The free show will start at 6 p.m. with Brett Dennen as special guest and Bushwalla as host.Fans can get in for free and be seated with lawn seats, but those who want to get a reserved seat must pay $1. The reserved seats will be sold through Ticketmaster’s new paperless ticketing method to discourage resale. Mraz said, “This free show is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to all our friends in San Diego and Southern California for their incredible support over the past 10 years. We will present the opportunity for San Diego to have a great night of music and sing-alongs with us, and to invite our friends and families and community to join us in supporting some great work being done by charities like Surfrider Foundation, VH1 Save the Music and San Diego Youth Services.”
The $1-tickets are limited to 4 per person. There will also be VIP seats, which cost $75 each plus service charge. The VIP seats will be sectioned at the front of the reserved seats. Also, 30 of the best pairs of tickets in the seated bit will be auctioned. The packages will include a special meet-and-greet after show with Mraz. All proceeds of the auction will benefit The Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to protect the world’s oceans.
